Shymal Dutta Ray

Shymal Dutta Ray was born in Ranchi, Bihar, and studied at the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. Apart from several one-man shows in the major cities of India, Ray participated in many international group exhibitions, including Algeria in 1976; Australia in 1976; Third World Biennale of Graphics, London in 1980; Dacca Biennale, Bangladesh in 1983; VI Triennale, New Delhi in 1986; and the Havana Biennale Club in 1986. His works are in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and the Glenbarra Museum, Japan.
