Laxman Aelay

Born in Kadiri Gudem, Andhra Pradesh, Laxman Aelay pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Painting from the J.N.T.U. College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad. His paintings are nostalgic, depicting the rural people he grew up with. He draws inspiration from the lives of the poverty-struck people of his village. A number of his creations are in public collections, and he has displayed his work in major solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad. He has also worked as a publicity designer for film director Ramgopal Varma and is a writer and an illustrator of children’s books.
