Amitava Das

Born in Delhi, Amitava Das studied drawing and painting at the College of Art, New Delhi. His works feature mythical creatures that spring from his imagination, metamorphosing from one species to another. His drawings evoke a childlike sense of wonder, conjuring a world out of music, dreams, and poetry. He has participated in several exhibitions in India and abroad. His works are part of the permanent collections of the Society of Contemporary Art, London, The National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, and Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. In addition to his artistic achievements, he has contributed to publications, interiors, furniture, and graphics.
