Akkitham Narayanan

Akkitham Narayanan blends the ancient and the modern, European and Indian styles, to create art pieces with immense spiritual depth and sensuality. His use of geometric patterns, colours, stained glass, murals, and fresco techniques reflect the influence of his stay in Paris. At the same time, Tantric symbols such as the serpent and the triangle reveal his roots in Kerala.

Narayanan pursued a Diploma in Painting from the Government School of Arts and Crafts in Chennai, followed by four years of study on a government scholarship at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His works have been exhibited in India and abroad, and he is a three-time winner of the Tamil Nadu State Lalit Kala Akademi Award. Narayanan also received the IVth International Festival of Painting Award in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France. His works are included in the collections of many distinguished individuals in India and abroad.
